| Message from Jassi... |
| My last newsletter came out just a few days into the North America Tour, and I’m pleased to say that the turnout and conversations on that Tour were inspiring, interesting and deeply encouraging. Thank you to everyone who helped, attended and put in so much effort. After the Tour I spent Diwali in London with my family. Unfortunately, the next day I fell ill and remained out of action until the end of October. I’m now back to work and looking forward to a busy November! This newsletter is devoted in large part to photos and news from the North America Tour, along with some of the work my father continued with in the halqa at the same time. |

| On Tour in USA & Canada |
You may already have heard some Tour updates. It was a great success. So many people gave their time and support and shared their views, that it was deeply encouraging. There were meetings with professionals in Detroit, a PAU breakfast in Calgary, and a fabulous turnout in Surrey, talks with Legislators, and visits to homes for the elderly in Edmonton and Surrey. A broad section of NRIs was met and dialogues continued and started.
There are so many pictures we can’t put them all in the newsletter. To see a selection, city by city, click here and you will be redirected to the Qila Raipur website. If you have more pictures, we’d love to see them. Please feel free to send them to us at info@qilaraipur.org. Please also tell us if we can show them on the website, though obviously we can’t guarantee we will be able to do so. For now, here’s just a few from the Tour. |

KLM Helping Hands is a charitable organisation that aims to uproot poverty and provide assistance to the needy. They organised a mass marriage of needy couples on Friday 23 October in Ludhiana at South End Garden.
Harsh Mahajan, president of the NGO, said that they also planned to set up orphanages, old age homes and a leprosy centre. In addition to the upcoming projects, the organisation on regular basis provides free books, food and medicines to needy. "The organization aims at beating poverty. | MDVL |
It’s been another extremely busy month at MDVL with the first calf being born at Phallewal Satellite Unit. This was a landmark moment for the project and the ladies who own the cows there.
MDVL Chairman, S. Jagpal Singh Khangura also broke ground to commence work at the next Satellite Unit at Village Aliwal. Civil work will now commence on the site which is projected to be operational in the first quarter of 2010.
Construction at the Central Unit, Latala is also coming along apace with our laboratory almost complete, the main milking parlour just around the corner from commissioning, and a whole new temporary office block open, meaning all staff are now on one site, making for smoother business processes and a stronger team. |

| NRI portfolio handed to new Cabinet Minister Sekhwan |
| Jassi wrote a strong press release this month questioning why the Badals were so keen to hand the NRI Affairs portfolio to a newly appointed Cabinet Minister, S. Sewa Singh Sekhwan on his appointment in late October. Jassi asked searching questions as to how the handover would be done and wondered whether this was an opportunity for the public to learn what the current “work in progress” report was for the Ministry.
